A 400,000-square-foot research and development campus proposal cleared San Carlos Planning Commission review Monday, sending the project to the City Council for final approval.
The Advance Planning Division of the City of San Carlos is seeking proposals from multi-disciplinary consulting firms or teams to develop the Northeast Area Specific Plan and to prepare amendments to the City’s 2030 General Plan and General Plan EIR.
Consulting firms or teams should have demonstrated experience in preparing specific area plans especially for areas that are primarily industrial but may be adding new uses; addressing environmental factors such as flooding and possible hazardous substance remediation; and conducting extensive community engagement. The City is on a trajectory to exceed the industrial, commercial, and office build-out approved in the 2030 General Plan; therefore, proposing firms must also demonstrate experience in preparing both citywide and area-specific General Plan and EIR amendments.
