WOBURN, MA The victim of a violent Woburn home invasion said police told his family there was another attempted break-in earlier the same night.
Woburn Police Chief Robert Rufo maintains there is no record of another attempted break-in.
Guruprasad Krishnamurthy was attacked with a knife around 2 a.m. March 29 in his North Woburn home. After he opened the window and he and his wife shouted for help, the intruder fled out the back door of the home, he said.

WOBURN, MA Woburn police are investigating a March 29 home invasion that hospitalized a resident, Chief Robert Rufo said.
Police believe it was a targeted attack and there is no danger to the public, the chief said. It was absolutely not random, he said.

Nothing was stolen and there have not been any other home invasions, Rufo said. Rest assured that if there was any danger to the general public of Woburn, we would have promptly released it to the public, Rufo said. There was no danger to the public.
New Horizons at Choate completes ‘Courtyard Suites’ residence wing

New Horizons at Choate independent and assisted living community in Woburn is ready to welcome new neighbors.
Construction is now complete on a brand-new residence wing housing 17 newly built oversized apartments.
The not-for-profit senior living community’s “Courtyard Suites” feature modern construction, spacious common areas and an expansive veranda overlooking a courtyard. The residences, which are available for immediate occupancy, vary in size and layout. Nearly all include large bay windows.
“With this snowy winter and the ongoing pandemic leaving so many local seniors in isolation, we are delighted to now be able to fully and immediately accommodate new residents,” said New Horizons at Choate Executive Director Christine Coakley.

The large-scale vaccination operation was completed in just over five hours by North Woburn s CVS Pharmacy. One hundred percent of current residents have now received the first round. New Horizons anticipates receiving the second dose of vaccine in approximately four weeks. Everyone was so happy to have started the vaccination process today, said New Horizons executive director Christine Coakley, a lifelong Woburn resident and 26-year New Horizons employee. After working so hard these past months to keep ourselves and each other well, we re all finally starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

According to Coakley, the excitement level among residents, who ranged in age from 75 to 100, was particularly high.
WOBURN - A judge refused to set bail for two men accused of an ambush-style murder of a Roslindale man after he ate dinner at Jake N Joe s Sports Grille on Saturday night.
According to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan s office, 34-year-old Plymouth resident Pauliasky Jean Francois and Hyde Park s Eric Mills, 29, were both ordered held without bail yesterday during their arraignment hearing in Woburn District Court on murder charges.
Both men are accused of gunning down 26-year-old Lloyd Borgella as he sat in his car outside of the popular Mishawum Road sports bar at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday night, when the victim met up with an unidentified party for dinner.
