FORT NELSON, B.C. – Traffic on the Alaska Highway 11 kilometres south of Fort Nelson will be delayed as North River Midstream removes a decommissioned pipe bridge that crosses over the highway.
According to Tim Shaw, Communications and Government Relations Supervisor for North River Midstream, the plant has been out of commission and is in the process of being remediated. As a result, the sulfur bridge is no longer in service.
As stated in a Fort Nelson First Nation post on social media, traffic will be reduced to a single lane from 10 p.m. on February 22nd to 6 a.m. on February 23rd, with alternating flow intervals of 20 minutes.
