Coastal Partners, a partnership consisting of four local authorities - Havant, Portsmouth, Gosport and Fareham, announced recently that all planned work for phase 4 of the North Portsea Island scheme has been completed on time.

The North Portsea Island (NPI) Coastal Defense Project team has made a fantastic start back on site at Phase 4 (Eastern Road) works, reported the Coastal Partners.
From April to September 2021, the team will be busy constructing the first 500m of seawall, rebuilding two slipways along the Eastern Road as part of the North Portsea Island scheme.
The past week has consisted of removing the existing concrete slipway, sheet piling (metal sheets that link together to form a wall), works along the border of the new slipway and along the line of the new sea wall, and concrete pouring for the base of the new slipway and concrete wall.

Coastal Partners today released the latest update on their North Portsea Island Coastal Defense Project.
From April to September 2021, they will be constructing the first 500m of seawall and rebuilding two slipways along the Eastern Road as part of the North Portsea Island coastal defense scheme.
“We will also be preparing the area of the next 1km of frontage ready for construction in 2022. The coastal path will be closed with a diversion for pedestrians in place,” the statement reads.

The North Portsea Island Scheme covers 8.4km of Portsmouth’s coastline from Tipner through to Milton.
