In one, the Ross County Prosecutor s Office reports Chillicothe police officers responded to a disturbance at East Main and Brownell November 19th. They found 21-year-old Christopher D. Howard of South Hickory Street crouching at the church there, holding a sharp object and threatening to harm himself. He ran, but fell behind a fence. A pursuing officer jumped on top of him to pin him down, but Howard struck the officer at least three times with the broken pieces of a wooden cross. For indictments on assault, Howard could get up to a year and a half and $5,000 in fines.
