An explosion took place at Union Pacific's Bailey Yard in North Platte, Nebraska resulting in evacuations within a 1-mile radius because of the "heavy toxic smoke" from chemicals on board the shipping container when it caught fire
The explosion happened on a railroad track in the city of North Platte on Thursday, after a fire erupted inside a stationary railcar which was carrying perchloric acid.
