A 32-year-old Petaluma man has been arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. This past Friday evening, Petaluma Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of the 200 block of North McDowell. When the reported license plate was given to officers, one of them recognized it as a stolen vehicle that had been reported by the Rohnert Park Police Department earlier in the day. The officer located the stolen white Geo Prism in the parking lot of a business in the 1300 block of North McDowell Boulevard and found it was occupied by Rolando Lucas-Neri. Officers contacted Lucas-Neri and determined that he was responsible for the theft of the Geo and arrested him.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. An employee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has been arrested for driving while impaired, according to CMPD.
Sheree Padgett, 34, has been an employee with the department since June 2016 and is assigned to the Records Management Division.
It happened Tuesday around 9:20 a.m. A CMPD officer noticed a car that was being driving erratically, and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East 7th Street and North McDowell Street.

Petaluma police said they were looking into a widely publicized incident at a craft store to find out whether a local couple were falsely accused by an internet influencer of trying to kidnap two of her children.
The incident, which occurred Dec. 7, quickly became an internet sensation after the influencer, Katie Sorensen, posted an online account, since deleted, of what she said was an attempt to kidnap her children in the parking lot outside of Michaels craft store on North McDowell Boulevard.
