Construction work to start on £80k revamp of North Lonsdale playpark in Ulverston

CONSTRUCTION work is due to start on a playpark set for an £80k revamp. North Lonsdale play area in Ulverston will be closed for several weeks whilst it is transformed into a new children s play area inspired by the town s railway and canal heritage. Plans were first put forward to renovate the run-down park nearly 18 months ago, with hopes for re-opening in summer last year. However, following some initial delays, South Lakeland District Council has now announced that building work has begun on the park. Mark Wilson, Ulverston Town Councillor, has welcomed the news. He said: The park had some small delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic but I m very glad to see it s going ahead.
