TRIBUTES have been paid to a “well-known” packaging industry expert and town stalwart who sadly died earlier this month. John Gandolfini, 69, died at his home in Colchester on December 11, surrounded by his loving family members with the support of St Barnabas, Macmillan and district nurses. In 2018 he had been diagnosed with cancer of the liver and was given the all clear a year later, but following several complications John had to endure a liver transplant. By July of this year he had been given the awful news that the cancer had returned and there was nothing more the doctors could do for him, and he eventually died.
