i think it is important these negotiations go forward. i think we ought to pursue what appears to be something of an offer. that is a denuclearization. what is the quo on the quid? we don t know, it remains to be seen. if we do know that, we are faced with circle paths. one is a war on the korean peninsula to take away their nuclear weapons and to stop it. that is a very, very bad path. the other path is negotiations, and i m very pleased that those are taking place. the idea that the north korea wants to have some sort of a guarantee of its future is understandable from their point of view. from south korea s point of view, the notion of unification of the peninsula doesn t make a lot of sense to me, and i think in this situation, the notion that south korea would somehow unify the north isn t going to happen anytime soon. maybe several decades from now, that s a possibility.
i would emphasize the cost of this sort of an attack probably isn t quite large and that s one reason why you can have a fairly small, it would even call that a network, but an association of like-minded individuals planning this attack that doesn t take a lot of preparation or money. as we wait for investigators to move through this current situation, find out if anybody else was involved, what happens here in the united states in something like this happens in the u.k. and overseas? we certainly mount a full court press overseas in the u.k. meeting with their british counterparts in order to determine whether there might be any sort of a link to those who might threaten us here in the homeland or threaten our people overseas. we ve got lots of u.s. citizens, private citizens and embassies and military serving overseas. we ve certainly gotten on here to do what we can to obtain the
