North Iowa Bulls return home as Fraser Cup champions
This is the 4th championship the team has won in their 10-year history, beating Rochester 5-1 on Monday

MASON CITY, Iowa - After a Decade of Dominance in the NA3HL, the North Iowa Bulls returned home Tuesday afternoon as Fraser Cup champions for the fourth time in team history.
A crowd of fans was on hand to welcome the team back to the Mason City Arena. Once the team unloaded their gear from their bus, players and even Coach Todd Sanden signed autographs and took pictures with their loyal supporters.

Goalie Carsen Stokes made 31 saves to earn the most valuable player honors and allowed only four tournament goals.

This was the fourth national championship in the 10-year history of the North Iowa Bulls; Sanden has coached them all.
In the 10 years, North Iowa also won eight division championships.
The pandemic canceled last year’s chance at a title and made this year more difficult for teams in the league. The Bulls lost a month of their season due to COVID-19 but overcame those challenges to capture the crown.
This was the last season for the Bulls in the NA3HL; North Iowa will take over the Amarillo Bulls’ spot in a tier higher of junior hockey next season – the North American Hockey League (NAHL). North Iowa hasn’t had an NAHL team since the North Iowa Outlaws left over a decade ago.

MASON CITY, Iowa – In October 2019, the North Iowa Bulls – currently a member of the North American 3 Hockey League – were sold to F&S Management and owners Alberto Fernandez and Robert Sweeney. The business partners were drawn to Mason City and the Bulls for a couple of things Fernandez told KIOW in 2019. They could own both the North Iowa Bulls (NA3HL) and the Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), plus the new arena in Downtown Mason City.
