A Waterloo man has been arrested for two crimes, which he escaped from on a riding lawn mower, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. First, 54 year old James Harrington allegedly snatched a $43 bottle of Absolut Vodka from the YesWay convenience store on Franklin Street on March 13th. He rode away from the store on the mower. Then, around 4 am surveillance video shows him holding items taken from a garage as he struggles to keep his mower moving in a straight line toward his home. Harrington’s license is barred until November 2024. He was been charged with third degree burglary, fifth degree theft, and driving while barred. His bond was set at $7,500. He is also awaiting trial for an incident in June when he allegedly took $112 in cash frm Vets Truck Wash on North Elk Run Road.
