Many areas without water for three days due to power outages at Dhabeji

KARACHI: The water supply to many parts of the city has been at a halt for three days due to power breakdowns at the Dhabeji Pumping Station. According to details shared by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), the city has been facing an acute shortage of water for the past 72 hours. Due to several power breakdowns, the water board said, no water had been supplied from the Dhabeji Pumping Station to the city. The pumping station supplies water to a major chunk of the city. Citizens complained they had not received water for days, and the situation got worse after Monday’s rainfall after which major areas of the city remained devoid of power. A resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s 13-D said they had not received any water since Sunday. “On Monday there was a rainfall and there wasn’t any power at our home,” the resident said, adding that there wasn’t any point in having a water tank
