Off duty cmpd officer Thomas Ferguson responded and said daequan westbrook pointed a gun at him. The officer shot and killed westbrook. Less than an hour before that, greer says he ran into officer ferguson. Small talk about football and the kids and merry christmas, you know, have a great day. He was shocked at the violent turn of events but grateful the officer and mall employees kept shoppers safe. Thankful and respectful of him for being able to be there and just heartbroken for the young man that was on the other side of it. Cmpd is still investigating this shooting.
