Man kills wife, children over domestic issue

LAHORE:A man killed his wife, a step daughter and a step son over a domestic dispute in Green Town here on Monday.
Police removed the bodies to morgue. The suspect identified as Ashiq Ali had contracted second marriage with victim Shamim Bibi after divorcing his first wife. Shamim was also divorcee. Her children from her first marriage Fauzia, 16, and Faisal, 14, were living with her in a rented quarter in Bagrian Chowk, Green Town. The couple would often quarrel with each on some domestic issues. The suspect would often subject the victim to domestic violence.

Punjab reports over 40 abduction cases daily
50% complaints are of minors leaving homes themselves

About 40 kidnapping cases are reported in Punjab daily on average but over half of them are not pursued due to various reasons.
Official data shows that 12,230 kdnapping cases were registered in the province during the first 10 months of the current year.
The data further showed that every fourth registered case in Punjab from the category of crime against persons is of kidnapping or abduction.
The criminal offences are largely dealt as crime against persons and property. Crimes against property include robbery, dacoity, theft, motorbike lifting, and car snatching, while crimes against persons include cases like murder, attack, sexual assault and kidnapping.
