Town meeting and voting day is a time honored tradition in Vermont. Here in Bennington, this will be our 262nd town meeting, with our first one being in 1762.
NORTH BENNINGTON â The Vermont Arts Exchange held its second stay-in-your-car parade on Saturday.
Beginning at the North Bennington Train Depot, around 15 vehicles joined in to give thanks to essential workers and key members of the community who have played a role in helping out during the pandemic.
Live music atop the VAE bus from two members of the band Moose Crossing as well as the debut of Vinnie Vaxine filled the streets with tunes.
Greg Van Houten created the Vinnie Vaxine character, an 80âs themed rock and roll musician decked out in all white with a gold syringe necklace. Vaxine played from a flying v-shaped electric guitar, naturally.

NORTH BENNINGTON â Vermont Arts Exchange will once again hold a Stay in Your Car Parade through the village on Saturday, April 24.
The parade begins at 11 a.m. at the North Bennington Train Depot, and all are welcome. Organizers encourage participants to decorate their vehicles to express their gratitude to those who have been, and continue to be, essential over the past year. Celebrate your teachers, school staff, parents and businesses as well as those on the front line, our local heroes, VAE said.
The parade was launched a year ago as the âfirst and hopefully only Stay in Your Car Parade.â Creativity abounded from local residents with clever signs and pick up truck floats to a large toilet paper sculpture on top of a roof of a small car.
