Coal Creek Canyon K-8 and Arvada K-8 are the smallest of Jeffco’s five K-8s. Coal Creek’s closure may be done in phases while Arvada K-8 would close at the end of 2023-24.
Jeffco, Colorado’s second largest school district, is recommending the closure of two K-8 schools as the district continues to address the decline in student enrollment.
Only one Jeffco middle or K-8 school is expected to see notable growth next year. The district is in the process of deciding how to identify schools for closure.

The incidents started about 2:50 a.m. when suspects in stolen Kia Soul attempted to break into a truck in the 7300 block of West 73rd Avenue, in the neighborhood just west of North Arvada Middle School, APD said.
