(AP) A California man has been arrested on accusations of possessing a massive collection of child pornography, authorities said. Michael Martin, 55, of Fresno was arrested Tuesday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. The arrest was made after detectives with the Central Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at Martin’s home and said they discovered more than 1,000 DVDs containing videos of children being raped, the statement said. Electronic devices and books containing explicit photos and videos were also allegedly found.

(AP) An 84-year-old man who went missing last week has been found dead, the Fresno County Sheriff s Office said Sunday. Augusto Zarate had been vacationing at a cabin near Huntington Lake, the Fresno Bee reported. The man s body was found Saturday by ground search teams in a remote, wooded area east of the lake. The body was located about a mile (1.6 kilometers) away from his cabin, the newspaper reported. The cause of death has yet to be determined. There was no visible trauma to his body when discovered, the Fresno County Sheriff s Office said.

Pacific Gas & Electric spokeswoman Karly Hernandez said that the outage began about 8 p.m. in an area east of Valentine Avenue, The Fresno Bee reported Monday. Most lights were back on an hour later but some residents were without power until midnight.
