NORRISTOWNÂ â A snow emergency took effect Wednesday morning for Norristown ahead of a winter storm that could bring significant snowfall to much of the area.
The emergency began at 9 a.m. and will last until 6 p.m. Friday, according to Norristown Municipal Council Vice President Rebecca Smith.
The declaration accounts for parking and traffic restrictions along snow emergency routes. The thoroughfares include DeKalb, Main, Airy, Marshall, and New Hope streets, according to the announcement posted on the municipalityâs Facebook page. Portions of Fornance, Lafayette, Stanbridge, Sterigere, Swede streets, as well as parts of Johnson Highway and Tremont Avenue are also covered under the snow emergency.
