PHNOM PENH, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) Cambodian Princess Norodom Arunrasmy, founder of the Mudhita Foundation, donated a Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) machine to the Preah Ket Mealea Hospital on Wednesday.
CRRT is a type of blood purification therapy used with patients who are experiencing acute kidney injury. During this therapy, a patient s blood passes through a special filter that removes fluid and uremic toxins, returning clean blood to the body.
Speaking at the handover ceremony of the CRRT machine, Arunrasmy, who is also a privy councilor for the Supreme Privy Council to King Norodom Sihamoni, said the machine would help increase the hospital s capacity to provide effective treatment to the patients with acute kidney injury.
