SYRACUSE, NY – Onondaga Community College will celebrate its 58th commencement ceremony this Saturday, May 15 at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. in the SRC Arena, located at Onondaga Community College, 4585 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13215-4585.
Over 400 students total will participate in the three ceremonies. These students completed their coursework in either the fall 2020, spring 2021, or summer 2021 semesters. To meet all social distance requirements the following procedures are in place.
All event attendees, including members of the media, must have either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within three days of the ceremonies. Each student may bring a maximum of two guests.
OSWEGO â SUNY Oswego wellness management major Fadi Gaye was recently one of 45 students in SUNYâs Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) to receive the statewide Norman R. McConney Jr. Award for Student Excellence, recognizing ability to overcome obstacles to achieve success.
âDespite the odds, Ms. Gaye exceeds the qualifications of this award and truly embodies the resilient grit necessary to be a trailblazer,â Grace Maxon-Clarke, academic planning counselor for Oswegoâs EOP office wrote in the nomination. âMs. Gaye was chosen because her story is a compilation of overcoming barriers and obstacles, achieving excellence and unparalleled service to others. Her story embodies the spirit of our EOP student population as well as reflects on the service and strength of the esteemed Norman R. McConney.â
