A Heber Springs man convicted on six counts of production of child pornography after a jury trial last August asked for and was granted mercy by a federal judge not often given toward leniency in sentencing.
A 59-year-old Heber Springs man, who had been facing a potential presumptive life sentence after his conviction on six counts of production of child pornography, was instead sentenced Wednesday to a total of 20 years in prison. The man had insisted in court that the 15-year-old girl in question had told him that she was 18.
