Santa s Garden in Rushwick to end displays after this year

A POPULAR annual Christmas lights display in Worcester is in its final year due to the cost of living crisis.

Christmas light show for charity goes ahead in Worcestershire

However, this year, the display is scaled-down to match Covid-19 restrictions. Mick and Norma Gale have festively decorated and opened up the garden of their semi-detached house in Rushwick for the last 16 years, to help get the community in the Christmas spirit and also raised much-needed donations for the Midlands Air Ambulance. Mick Gale, 7, is asking visitors to the illuminations at 66 Christine Avenue for donations to the charity either in the bucket on site or online. Mr Gale said: When the pandemic hit, I had to look at how the light show could still go ahead and keep everyone safe, so we ve closed the back garden where the main focus of the show usually is and just decorated the front of the house, to visitors can watch from the street.
