DEL CITY, Oklahoma -
A Del City mother is in jail after she was accused of forcing four children to live in filth.
Lashanda Butler was arrested Wednesday.
Neighbors were shocked at the secret on their street.
“It’s really heartbreaking and it makes me sad it was so close, and I just didn t know,” said neighbor Sierra Rodriguez.
“I always asked her if she needed something and she’d say ‘no,’” said neighbor Hidy Ek.
While Butler,27, is a mother to four children, ages 3, 4, 5, and 7, neighbors said they only caught glimpses of them.
“They never came outside,” said Ek.
