they want to know how many votes were actually submitted. they want to get their hands on a that data. a judge required there do that. the scott campaign says they don t have what they want. they re scheduled to be here around 10:00 this morning. so a lot of movement here. but again if you zoom out to big pick canture, we re waiting on this noon deadline. that s when we re going to know ofilgtsyy the margin is 0.5 in which there will be a recount, correct? i don t know if she can hear us. thank you. let s get to breaking news in the death of murdered journalist, jamal khashoggi. he s given images to saudi
florida senate and governor s races, pending an announcement of the secretary of state. cnn s ryan nobles is live in tallahassee. what do you know, ryan? well, it sure looks like we re headed to a recount in florida and these big races between the statewide races. it s important to point out even though the county said they re ready to move ahead, with that automatic recount, we re still waiting on the secretary of state here to put out the official word that based on these final votes. based on all the votes we see, which is posted on the secretary of state s website, all of the county s have now reported all the votes that must be in by the noon deadline. on this day. there is a batch of votes, military and overseas ballots that have a ten-day deadline which haven t been counted yet but this important group of votes, the vast majority of the votes here in florida have now been registered and are in the
emergency injunction, a request to stop the process, longer past the noon deadline. the judge saying he doesn t see the emergency in that instead saying if he believes the votes should be cured and counted, provisional ballots, make the order later when they go to court and have that hearing. that legal fight basically saying we re operating on a noon deadline. as some lawyers here with experience in florida recounts have cautioned us, this timeline is good until a legal battle basically makes it not good. david? ah. we bring in ally. your reaction where we are? looking back to 2000 as well. absolutely deja vu and ally did a masterful job laying out the legal consequences. keep two dates in mind. november 20 and november 30. november 20 is the day that these election results are supposed to be certified by a three-member panel that includes the governor of florida. so here we are in america.
joining me now is steve shale, ally vitale, and here in new york is ellie mistaval. so let s get an update on what s really the count, not yet the recount. yeah. we have not quite hit the recount yet. that should officially come this afternoon. you mentioned the noon deadline for those initial round of counting of the votes to basically effectively trigger this recount officially, right? so we mentioned that there was the 0.5 margin which triggers an automatic recount by machine, then the 0.2% margin that triggers the recount by hand. on the senate side, it looks like it will go to the next round further than that, they re closer than that 0.25% margin
senate and gubernatorial races and with one statewide race already changing hands. every single vote truly does count. steve shale and ali vitaly where the virts are headed. what do we expect to happen at noon? is an larm going to go off in that building? what is going to happen at noon when all those ballots get there? we ve been talking about this noon deadline and now that its finally here. at around 2:00, we ll hear there s an official recount in effect and happening. that s what we ve been moving towards all week. we just heard from our colleague ron allen who s down in broward county who tells us that they ve transmitted their canvassing results to the secretary of state s office. broward county has seemed to have met that deadline.
