NAKHON PHANOM: A ranger patrol seized 1.3 million methamphetamine pills found in bags left on the Mekong river bank in Tha Uthen district on Tuesday morning.
The meth pills were in packages inside four fertiliser sacks on the riverside near Ban Hat Sai Phe village in tambon Nong Thao.
Authorities believed the drugs were smuggled by long-tail boat across the river from Laos, and left on the river bank to be picked up by couriers.

NAKHON PHANOM: Soldiers arrested one man and seized 74,000 methamphetamine pills and a kilogramme of crystal methamphetamine that had been smuggled across the Mekong river from Laos, in Tha Uthen district on Tuesday night.
A patrol from Ranger Company 2109 laid in wait on the bank of the Mekong river, near a village in tambon Tha Champa.
They were deployed on information that drugs would be smuggled from Laos on Tuesday night.
