The great irony of misinformation is that the vast majority of it is actually about selling stuff, from weird dietary supplements to other shady products. The overwhelming proportion of bad information, especially online, including political misinformation, is about commercialisation. Consider Alex Jones, a prominent right-wing conspiracy theorist who propounded that even the Sandy Hook shooting was a false flag, for which he was sued. A huge majority of such misinformation-spreading is based on the business of selling products — here, politics and outrage are also used to attract people to merchandise, says Matthew Baum.
Are non-white voters really moving away from the Democratic Party? To partisan Democrats confronting this question on Twitter (sorry, X), it seems preposterous that the party of Donald Trump, whom they routinely call a racist, could be gaining support from blacks, Hispanics, and Asians.
if you take let s say 1, 2 points out of a black vote that was traditionally democratic you can change the dynamic of this entire race. yeah, that s correct. that s a very important fact for people to keep in mind about so-called people of color or non-whites. overwhelmingly these are moderate to conservative, not liberal. they have a lot of views on a lot of issues that make them somewhat accessible to the republicans. as you say, if you just take a few points off the black vote or while we ve seen bigger than that off the hispanic vote it creates problems for the democrats. so i think republicans, you know, i m not a campaign consultant but if you want to concentrate on something that will give the democrats trouble you would be well advised to really work the non-white vote,

working class support not among whites but non-whites as well. he would play well in certain areas of the country. it is not clear that a candidate as weak as biden is in some ways with low approval ratings and other problems would automatically be able to beat trump. if he can t automatically beat trump he could win. he could win and lord knows i think we don t need another trump presidency. dana: i know you have a book coming out in the fall and i hope we see you a lot between now and then and your take on the democrats is super interesting as we look at 2024. take care. john: a new debate is raging over safety in schools after two administrators were shot at a denver high school this week. some of the nation s largest school district are reconsidering whether to keep local police and resource officers on campus. garrett tenney is live in chicago with more. it ignited a big debate after
