Hospitals’ staff strike continues
July 14, 2021
Islamabad: Health workers of federal government hospitals continued their protest on Tuesday, warning the government to expedite the payment of COVID risk allowance to them, failing which their protest will not merely continue but intensify.
“We want our issues immediately resolved,” the charged protestors demanded. The Out-Patient Departments and vaccination centres of all hospitals in the capital city remained closed, with hundreds of patients facing the brunt of needless mishandling of an issue that should long have been resolved.
Gathered under the umbrella of the Federal Grand Health (FGHA), the protest was attended by all its constituent organizations including the Young Doctors Association, Paramedics Association, Officers Association, and Non-Gazetted Employees Association, among others.
