SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) A now removed Bay Area job posting by a tech company on LinkedIn has drawn immense criticism for requiring applicants to be non-Asian.
Stephen Li s girlfriend was on LinkedIn earlier this month when she noticed a posting by the tech company Aptude. Upon closer inspection under job requirements were the words non-Asian . My girlfriend found it and was so shocked and she sent it to me. I definitely wasn t going to let it go unnoticed, so I decide I would post it on LinkedIn more as an effort to increase awareness both in the professional world and to get eyes from the company itself and from LinkedIn, said Stephen via text with ABC7 News anchor Dion Lim.

Then the pandemic came, and the 150-foot Ferris wheel sat still in the middle of Golden Gate Park for six months.
The wheel finally started spinning in October, albeit for only five weeks before the second COVID-19 surge again stopped it in its tracks.

A tech company has apologized after a Bay Area job listing went up on LinkedIn requiring applicants be non-Asian.
Aptude, an IT consulting firm, is based in Chicago but has offices all over the world. On its site, it says the company helps clients hire IT staff, fill a temporary development position, or piece together a project team. ABC7 first reported that a woman looking at Bay Area job posts on LinkedIn noticed an open position for an Aptude data analyst. The job listed a requirement for non-Asian applicants in its description section.
