Nokia appoints former head of Ericsson Networks into an executive position Recently, Nokia appointed former Ericsson executive, Nishant Batra, as its chief strategy and technology officer. This appointment is part of CEO Pekka Lundmark’s commitment to re-building Nokia’s management team. Bartra will join Nokia in mid-January next year to succeed Marcus Weldon. Marcus is one of the top executives who are leaving due to Lundmark’s large-scale business restructuring. The incoming executive has worked for Ericsson for 12 years and held multiple positions before being promoted to the head of the network product field in 2016. He left the Swedish supplier in 2018 and joined the automotive technology company, Veoneer, as the chief technology officer.

Gizmochina After unveiling the Nokia C1 Plus for international markets, HMD Global has now launched this entry-level smartphone in China priced at ¥499 ($76). It will go on sale starting Christmas Day (December 25) in the country. The Nokia C1 Plus is a device targeted at first-time smartphone buyers. It features a 5.45-inch IPS LCD panel on the front with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels (HD+), 18:9 screen-to-ratio, and a 5MP selfie camera with an LED flash above it. The back of the phone houses another 5MP shooter, again accompanied by an LED flash. Further, the volume rocker and the power key are located on the right side. Whereas, the 3.5mm headphone jack is at the top, and the MicroUSB port, the microphone hole, as well as the speaker grille are at the bottom.

The Finnish firm on Monday launched the Nokia PureBook X14 laptop in collaboration with Walmart -owned Flipkart for the Indian market. The Nokia PureBook X14, which is priced at Indian rupees 59,990 ($815), features a 14-inch full-HD display and is powered by Intel’s 10th generation quad-core i5 processor with up to 4.2GHz turbo speed. The laptop, which ships pre-installed with Windows 10 Home, sports a 512GB NVMe SSD and 8 GB DD4 RAM. This is the second time Nokia has explored the laptop category.
