A group of 12 people from an unauthorised call centre were arrested by the Noida Police for allegedly duping foreigners on the pretext of selling them anti-virus software of reputed companies. The police has also seized 14 desktops and other related items from the possession of the accused, said an official on Friday., Noida News - Times Now
The fraudulent call centre was involved in swindling people in the name of quick bank loan processing, insurance policy renewal, policy mortgage loans, and insurance plans.
A fake call centre in Noida has been exposed involving employees recruited from Manipur and Nagaland. The call centre, which imitated American accents, accessed American social security numbers from the dark web to scare people into divulging personal information. The manager, Vivek Kumar, recruited staff with English fluency, targeting workers from the northeast for their distinctive accents.
