PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/ANN): The government supported a joint statement on “Sustainable Agricultural Productions and Food System” initiated by Japan as it complements Cambodia’s Agriculture Sector Strategic Development Plan and Policy 2030.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Veng Sakhon expressed the support during a video conference held on July 19 with his Japanese counterpart Nogami Kotaro.
Also in attendance were Asean ministers of agriculture from Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam to study the statement.
Sakhon thanked Kotaro for initiating the statement, saying: “The Cambodian side fully supports the joint statement because it is in line with our plan and policy.”

NDO – Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong and Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) Nogami Kotaro co-hosted the fifth Vietnam-Japan high-level dialogue on development co-operation and Vietnam-Japan Public-Private Cooperation Forum on Agriculture in a virtual format on December 12.
At the dialogue, the two sides have deeply re-evaluated the results achieved over the past several years and then adopted the contents and implementation of the Mid-term and Long-term Vision for the agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and Japan during the next period (2020-2024).
