National labor leaders are joining the chorus of calls for Gov. Phil Murphy to provide aid to undocumented immigrants who have been excluded from coronavirus relief funds over the last 13 months, including some who are marking the third week of a hunger strike.
Civil rights activist and Latina labor leader Dolores Huerta, who organized the 1965 Delano grape strike in California and co-founded United Farm Workers with Cesar Chavez, held a call with activists and fasters Monday night organized by Make the Road New Jersey, the Elizabeth-based immigrant group organizing the hunger strike and rallies around the state.
