Vester flanagan even made his own recording of the shooting and his words reveal what many consider a twisted motivation. Police say it was a former reporter Vester Flanagan known on tv as Bryce Williams fired from the tv station two years ago. He took social media posting the video of the attack and complained about the people he just killed. They think he headed to the airport where he switched out his car for a car he rented. 4 hours later a trooper identified the vehicle on i66. Minutes later Vester Flanagan crashed and shot himself. Vester flanagan fled the scene after the shooting, 6 45 a. M. At 11 00 a. M. Police found his mustang at the airport where he got into a rented car. A trooper spotted Vester Flanagan on i66. Despite speeding away he crashed minutes later, 190 miles from where he started. Police radio recordings captured what happened next. [ indiscernible ] reporter Vester Flanagan died at the hospital. In a manifesto faxed to abc news Vester Flanagan said anger over the Charleston Church shootings drove him to kill his former colleagues and he said he was the target of Racial Discrimination and bullied at work but wdbj7 disputed the claims.
