Most Lee countians paid property taxes on time

The deadline to file property taxes in Lee County passed this Wednesday, and after a pandemic year that saw an increase of delinquent property, Lee County Tax Collector Noelle Branning said things are starting to get back to normal.
From 2018 to 2019, the percentage of real estate and business property tax collected dropped. For the 2020 tax year, the percentage of property taxes collected has once again climbed to a usual number.

Branning, Caldwell sworn-in to county offices

New Constitutional Officers were sworn-in this week in Lee County.
This past Tuesday, Noelle Branning stepped into office as the new Lee County Tax Collector while Matt Caldwell took the helm of Lee County Property Appraiser. The two take over for Larry Hart and Ken Wilkinson, respectively. Both retired.
“In the time that I spent working with Larry, I learned so much about leadership development and really how to strengthen an organizational culture,” Branning said. “I am so excited for the opportunity to collaborate with Matt and find ways to streamline things for our customers.”
Lee residents meet the incoming tax collector

Noelle Branning will take over as Lee County Tax Collector at the start of the new year, yet even before she assumes the office, she is already making an imprint as to how the office will run.
That means you will see a lot of her, answering questions and letting residents know she is not looking to operate from an adversarial position.
Branning was at the North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce meeting of Dec. 18 for a meet-and-greet with area residents as she gets ready to take over for retiring tax collector Larry Hart on Jan. 5.
