Programs. Reporter oaklands Mosswood Park is a playground for families. But it is also a haven for the homeless. The woman in blue identified herself as lulu. She asked us not to show her face. She tells me she lost her job then her home and started living in the park. And it changed so much. I used to go, there were four people in the park here. Reporter lulu tells me there are now 50 People Living here in plain sight and countless others who choose to stay hidden, tucked away in spots hidden by fences or shrubbery. Her count of the homeless is it found that the number of Homeless People increased 47 since 2017. One of the biggest california city. Discouraged but not surprised. Reporter elaine is with everyone home, the organization that did the count. The group hired 164 recently and currently Homeless People to guide volunteers as they conducted their count. We do know that theres been an ongoing years long federal abuse investigation going on here and years ago to eventually lead charges against the former warden and other employees. They were removed from the premises at the time today weve been made aware fbi agents stopped by again this time searching and taking computers and documents were also told. But the current warden associate warden and the captain were removed from the facility today. We spoke with a volunteer advocate with the California Coalition for women prisoners, a group part of a Class Action Lawsuit against fci and the federal bureau of prisons. Like yesterday starting with those showers and getting to the sunshine during the afternoon where were sitting right now. As you can see, we have a lot of clouds and those active showers moving across the region. Our heaviest of rainfall has now moved out into the Central Valley and up into the sierra foothills and a lot of snow in the sierra itself. So this is one of our last snowy impacts, at least for a little while for a mountainous regions where were sitting in the bay right now, very wettest on the peninsula. As you can see, a lot of green stretching from the Marin Headlands through San Francisco down the peninsula and across our bridges, east bay shoreline and into the south bay.
