(OLNEY/NOBLE) The Olney/Noble Airport Authority invites everyone to an “Open House” this coming Sunday at the airport, not only to check out the newly remodeled terminal building, but to enjoy the annual fly-in / drive-in breakfast in the airport’s main hangar. With pancakes, sausage, biscuits, gravy, doughnuts, and drinks on the menu, all ages are invited, plus the money raised from the breakfast goes to help support aviation education within our local community. In fact, one of the big projects over the years has been to provide EAA Young Eagle flights to the 8th grade students at the Richland County Middle School in Olney. All are invited to the Olney/Noble Airport this coming Sunday, along Route 250 between Olney and Noble.

(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met last night in regular session. The Council : approved the payment of bills as presented : accepted the $29,856 bid from Vandevanter Engineering of Decatur to purchase a new sewage grinder for the City of Olney’s Sewage Treatment Plant : accepted four seperate bids to build a multi-use trail in the Olney City Park – $44,625 for concrete – $16,367 for utility supply storm sewer piping – $13,835 for sewer inlets and rings – and $13,752 for crushed stone : approved related permits and other documents for the Route 130 Sidewalk Project : approved the recommended appointment of Eric King to the Olney/Noble Airport Authority : heard and reviewed the various reports from the City of Olney Departments : and then adjourned with no closed session : the next Olney City Council meeting is March 8, 2021.
