AKRON – A Stark County man accused of taking part in the U.S. Capitol insurrection will be released on bond.
John Douglas Wright, 54, appeared Thursday before U.S. District Court Magistrate Kathleen B. Burke for a detention hearing.
Burke agreed to release Wright on a $50,000 signature bond with GPS monitoring and social media and travel restrictions while Wright awaits his trial in Washington, D.C., according to Wright s attorney, Noah Munyer.
He must pass a home inspection before his release from custody. Mr. Wright is very grateful to be released on bond and return home to his wife. He now regrets his involvement in the Capitol protests on Jan. 6, Munyer said on Wright s behalf.
