TAYLOR, Mich. (FOX 2) - Taylor Police say a man was drunk when he ran a red light and hit a car early Wednesday morning, killing a 12-year-old girl. Noah Damron, 20, has been charged with nine felonies in connection to the death of Phoebe Elliott on Wednesday, Feb. 3. According to Taylor Police, Damron was drunk and speeding when he ran a red light at Telegraph and Northline and t-boned a car with Phoebe, who was riding with her aunt to pick up some newspapers for a paper route. Police also said he was carrying an illegal gun and was out on bond for a felonious assault charge.

It happened around midnight Wednesday. Police say 20-year-old Noah Damron ran a red light and struck an SUV  at Telegraph and North Line. Inside was Phoebe and her aunt Lisa Capps-both were rushed to the hospital. Phoebe was pronounced dead at the hospital. Capps is recovering.

and last updated 2021-02-05 20:43:39-05 (WXYZ) — A Taylor man has been charged in connection to the car accident that killed 13-year-old Phoebe Elliot and injured her aunt. Both were from Allen Park. The Wayne County Prosecutor s Office has charged 20-year-old Noah Damron after it is alleged that he was intoxicated and driving at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the family s SUV near Telegraph and Northline on Feb. 3. Officials say Damron also had a firearm in his car at the time of the crash. Damron is facing numerous charges including Reckless Driving Causing Death, Reckless Driving Causing a Serious Impairment, Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and four counts of Felony Firearm. The weapons charges stem from the gun that was found in the car.
