Awards for the loudest snorer and the biggest blisters were handed out along with bravery honours at Parkview School in Barrow early in 1993. The ceremony was held for year seven pupils who attended a residential Outward Bound course at Hawes End, near Keswick, before Christmas. Head of Year Lesley Parkinson said: The week-long course is a tradition at Parkview and this is the tenth year it has been running. We think it enhances the children s academic career and it also helps the teachers. The teachers come back absolutely shattered but we all think it is well worthwhile and helps everyone involved.
