PSV’s return to the Champions League has not been a success thus far. The still-unbeaten leaders of the Eredivisie could not defeat Sevilla at home on Tuesday: the 15th team of Spain: 2-2. Thanks to a goal deep into injury time, PSV are still in the race to reach the last 16 after two matches.
PSV still have a perfect record in the Eredivisie. The leaders in the table missed plenty of chances but still won without any trouble against bottom-of-the-table FC Volendam: 3-1. It is the Seventh win in a row for PSV. Their lead over the reigning champions Feyenoord, who have won their last five games, remains four points. PSV conceded their first goal since the 19th of August and did not equal the record of the 2007/2008 season. PSV, who won the title that season, conceded one goal in the first seven matches. They have conceded two this time.
PSV beat Almere City 0-4 on Saturday to continue their 100% winning record in the Eredivisie. Goals by Guus Til, Hirving Lozano, Joey Veerman, and Ricardo Pepi gave Peter Bosz’s side a comfortable victory.
