Amid commuting public’s confusion and outcry due to the barring of the unvaccinated from boarding public transportation in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Thursday reiterated that there are exemptions to the “no vaccination, no ride” policy.

In a statement, the DOTr said exemptions to the policy were for those with medical conditions that prevent full Covid-19 vaccination and those who will acquire essential goods and services which includes work. Rolen Balquin, city public safety officer, said on Monday that police and members of city inter-agency task force manning entry points in the city's north and south borders would be asking for vaccination certificates or vaccination cards on coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) upon entry to the locality.
