Crores of rupees worth of properties constructed by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) have been lying idle for months, using up public funds for maintenance without any usage by residents. Buildings include community halls, multi-purpose buildings, gymnasiums, libraries, markets, night shelters, and creche. The NMMC has called for expressions of interest from private agencies and is scrutinizing applications from social organizations to allot the premises.
