Former South Africa Olympic star Deolin Mekoa has resurfaced in the GladAfrica Championship after seven months without a club.
Mekoa, 27, looked destined for stardom in South African football when he rejected a lucrative offer from Mamelodi Sundowns but has endured a dramatic fall from grace since.
In January 2020 he fell out of favour at Maritzburg United where he developed into one of the most sought-after talents in the PSL and was sent out on loan to the now-defunct Ajax Cape Town.
Upon his return to KZN, the talented winger was released from his contract and after seven months in search of a new club, second-tier strugglers Bizana Pondo Chiefs have offered him a career lifeline.
