The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has praised Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State for remaining steadfast and promoting the ideology of the party which has attracted thousands of members of the opposition parties, especially the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) into the ruling party in the state.
In a statement signed by its Chairman in Abia State, Hon Allwell Asiforo Okere, and made available to newsmen in Umuahia, on Tuesday, the PDP leadership commended Ikpeazu for fulfilling his election campaign promises in line with the PDP manifesto by embarking and completing projects that have direct benefit to residents of the state.

Personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, in Abia State have rescued a teenage girl from Umuokoro Obinkita in Arochukwu Local Government Area, simply identified as Ada who was chained by the neck and limbs and locked away in their house by her mother.
The rescue according to NSCDC source followed a tip-off and support from the Vicar Hope Foundation and the Child Protection Network.
According to the the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Mr. Ndukwe, the rescue was effected after 24 hours of surveillance mounted at the victim’s home.
