The Maharashtra government extended the deadline until December 24 for a committee tasked with establishing the Standard Operating Procedure for granting Kunbi caste certificates to Marathas, who seek inclusion in the OBC category for reservations. The extension is due to delays in examining Nizam-era documents and a shortage of skilled translators.
