it s time for the pop culture lead. the slowdown of the newspaper industry also means the slowdown of political cartoons the washington post s herb locke made nixon s enemies list. and most recently, matt boris to score political points on the house floor, but even with that plug, there s no denies the field of political cartooning is regrettably fading away. i recently spoke to matt forbes, considered one of the best in the business, about how he s managed to evolve as the member of an endangered species. armed with a ruler, an ink bottle, a coffee-stained sketchbook and sharp political mind, 29-year-old matt boris has mastered a dies craft. i sat down with him. creatively it s flourishing

created equal. reporter: a hollywood icon, not just for his film career. would you classify yourself as a radical, mr. peck? no. no. i would classify myself, if i have to be classified, as an old-fashioned american liberal. reporter: your father was also known for being someone in the business who, in those days, was very active with a social conscience. he was. apparently on nixon s enemies list. reporter: and proud of it. proud of it. reporter: was he seriously? oh, yeah. i looked. i had heard the story so i looked it up on google. there it was. because of his progressive politics, you know, and his liberal politics. reporter: stephen peck says when he got his draft notice for vietnam his father was supportive. he was a liberal politician against the war, but he was a patriot.
