COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team extended its win streak to three meets with a 405.500-403.900 victory over No. 3 Penn State on Sunday at the Covelli Center. The Buckeyes earned their highest score of the season while handing the Nittany Lions their first loss of the year.
Ohio State had season highs on pommel horse (67.000), rings (67.350) and parallel bars (68.450). The Buckeyes also claimed team titles on rings, parallel bars and vault (71.500).
Individually, Donovan Hewitt shared the vault crown with a 14.550 and Jesse Tyndall scored a 14.300 to take first on parallel bars.
Ohio State opened the competition on floor, where Tyndall earned a 14.300 to place second. Penn State’s Matt Cormier won the event with a 14.600.
