ConVal and Pelham piled on the runs Wednesday afternoon, but the Cougars’ home scoreboard didn’t reflect a single tally. Turns out, ConVal’s waiting on a replacement part, but in the meantime, Cougar head coach Amanda Hinton is using the darkened scoreboard to her advantage, as she keeps her players in the dark regarding the score, whether it’s a tight game or a blowout.
“I feel like they work harder if they think we only need one or two,” Hinton said after Wednesday’s game. “If they ask us for the score, sometimes I tell them – it all depends on how I feel.”
