HIGH NOTES: Practicing music for charity, Irish dinner for school food program

HIGH NOTES: Practicing music for charity, Irish dinner for school food program | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS In Saratoga Springs, local students are practicing their music while raising money for two local organizations through the inaugural Practice-A-Thon event. Throughout the month of March, about 700 students in grades 6-12 at Maple Avenue Middle School and Saratoga Springs High School are accepting donations in exchange for hours practiced on their instruments and for chorus. Friends, family and members of the community make pledges based on the number of hours they practice per week. All the money raised will go directly to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) and Franklin Community Center. The effort is not only designed to raise money, but to inspire students to practice their instruments at a time when it’s challenging for them to find motivation due to less practice time together in bands and choruses.
